Ten years of independent thinking

Plastiserve is an independent masterbatch and polymer supplier, founded by Stephen Cooper and Ian Morgan with a simple idea: smaller lot customers deserve the same level of service as anyone else. A decade on, that’s still what drives us.

Why we started

We could see that customers ordering smaller quantities often weren’t getting the service they deserved. Minimum order quantities, long lead times, and account managers who only had time for the biggest spenders — that’s the experience too many injection moulders were used to.

So we built something more personal — a supplier that goes the extra mile, offers real value and convenience, and makes life easier for customers who just want to get on with running their business. We started with polymers and masterbatch, and the principle was always the same: treat every enquiry, large or small, as if it’s the only one that matters. Ten years later, that’s still exactly what we do.

Genuinely independent. Genuinely working for you.

We’re not tied to any single manufacturer or distribution agreement. That means when you come to us, we’re working for you — not steering you toward whatever a supply agreement happens to favour, and not limited to one supplier’s range when something better suits your application.

That independence really earns its keep when materials are in short supply. We can look wider, search harder, and find alternatives that a tied supplier simply can’t offer. When the market gets difficult — and over ten years, it has, more than once — that’s exactly when an independent partner is worth the most.

It also means our advice is genuinely our own. We’re not paid to push one polymer family over another, or to hit a quota on a particular masterbatch range. If something isn’t right for your application, we’ll tell you, and help you find what is.

From 250g to full truckloads

Smaller lot customers are still very much our focus — injection moulders who need a bag or two of polymer, or a small bespoke colour masterbatch run, without a punishing minimum order quantity. That said, we look after everyone from customers who only want 250g of Universal Masterbatch to those taking full trucks of compounded polymer.

Increasingly, we’re the people customers call when they’re not quite sure what they need — one call, and we’ll find it. Polymers, compounds, colour, and additives, all from one independent partner. Whether that’s matching an existing colour to a tight tolerance, sourcing a polymer grade that’s gone into short supply elsewhere, or simply talking through what additive package would solve a processing problem, it’s the kind of conversation we have every day.

We work across a wide range of sectors and applications, and the common thread is always the same: customers who want a supplier they can pick up the phone to, who’ll give them a straight answer, and who treats their order — whatever the size — as worth getting right.

We’ve invested heavily in technology and people to keep improving what we offer, from the systems that let us quote and source faster, to the people who answer the phone and actually know what they’re talking about. The “We Work For You” ethos hasn’t changed since day one, and it isn’t going to.

If the market has shifted at all, it’s that people value this kind of partnership more than ever. Supply chains have become less predictable, and customers have learned the hard way what happens when their only supplier is also their only option. An independent partner who can look beyond one source isn’t just a nice-to-have anymore — it’s increasingly the difference between keeping production running and not.
